I Drink, Steal, Swear, and Lie. You Should Do It Too.
This morning as I was doing my morning reading, I stumbled upon a story that shocked me. It explained a man’s motto on how he lives his life – DRINK, STEAL, SWEAR, & LIE. I really couldn’t believe what I was reading! How could someone actually publicize that they were going to live their life as something society sees as a negative? Why would this man make himself a target for people to judge him?
After processing the words that I read, I believe that I’ve just found the new motto for my life. From this moment on, I’ve adopted the DRINK, STEAL, SWEAR, & LIE mentality. I won’t make any apologies for choosing to live my life this way. I believe that if more people adopted this motto, the world would be a better place.
In simple terms, he says that people should:
1. ‘Drink’ from the everlasting cup every day.
2. ‘Steal’ a moment to help someone that is in a worse position than you.
3. ‘Swear’ that you will be a better person today than yesterday.
4. And last, but not least, when you ‘Lie’ down at night thank God you are alive and have freedom.
I admit that I was a little judgmental before I read the entire story, but once I read it I completely understand why he lives his life this way. It is a very interesting way to turn actions that are perceived as negative or bad habits into positive events in your life…and someone else’s life.
This story couldn’t have come at a better time for me. They say that God works in mysterious ways. This story has confirmed that statement for me. As I struggle to walk my chosen path, I need constant inspiration and reminders of how and why I need to live right. This way of life may not be for everyone, but I can tell you that this is definitely for me. In 2011, I can see great things happening and through it all I will be sure to Drink, Steal, Swear, and Lie.
