Regrets...
There is something about this time of year that makes me reflect upon my past and what I would have, could have, or should have done differently. This year has been filled with failed relationships, lost friendships and broken hearts, but on the flip side it’s been filled with a lot of good times, so I can’t really say that I regret any of the losses. It just amazes me that I’ve been through so much, but I refuse to be upset about things that didn’t turn out the way that I wanted them to. Life goes on.
I haven’t always made the right decisions, but I’ve made decisions that I thought were right at the time. I tend to be hard on myself, but I’m beginning to realize that it’s not going to get me anywhere. I now realize that there is no time for regrets. There is only time to live my life. And life, as we all know, is not a straight road. It’s a road that has many twists, turns, bumps and dead ends.
I’ve made plenty of decisions that have put me in the position to have to work harder to get to the end result, but it has all been worth it. I’ve made a promise to myself that I am not going to regret anything that I do or anything that I have done in my past. Life is too short. Yes, we all make rash decisions from time to time, but that which does not kill us can only make us stronger. As long as you learn from the experience you are in a position to grow.
I will always reflect upon my past, but I am going to look at things differently. I am not going to look at my life and dissect each bad decision just to make myself feel bad about it. I am going to look at my life, learn from it and grow to be a better person. I can teach others what I’ve learned from my mistakes. Most importantly, I can live my life without regrets.
